SpinRite was designed for mechanical Hard Disk Drives (HDDs). While it claims to work with SSDs, the situation is complicated. SSDs manage their own wear leveling and bad blocks internally. Running SpinRite's intensive read/write loops on an SSD can significantly shorten its lifespan or provide no benefit, as the drive's controller hides the raw data SpinRite wants to fix.
