The film's soundtrack was composed by Harris Jayaraj, and the lyrics were written by Na. Muthukumar, Pa. Vijay, and Vivek.

The brilliance of the casting lies in the juxtaposition. Jiiva sheds his mass-hero image to play a man who is essentially flawed, often unlikable in his indecision. Samantha, however, is the film’s heart. In a performance that predates her stardom in the South, she captures the terrifying volatility of a young woman who loves too hard. Her eyes convey a devastation that dialogue cannot.
