The namesake of the franchise is, of course, the Titan. While games like MechWarrior treat mechs as heavy tanks, Titanfall treats them as partners. This relationship is codified in the "Titanfall" sequence itself—the thunderous drop from the sky, the window smashing, and the pilot entering the chassis.
