How Does A Mustard Seed Grow Jun 2026
The growth of a mustard seed begins with germination. This process starts when a mustard seed is planted in soil with adequate moisture and warmth. Typically, mustard seeds require a temperature range of 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C) to germinate. Once the seed absorbs enough water, it begins to swell, and the seed coat cracks open. A tiny root, known as the radicle, emerges from the seed and grows downward into the soil, anchoring the seedling and starting to absorb water and nutrients. At the same time, a small green shoot, or cotyledon, grows upward toward the sunlight, beginning the process of photosynthesis.
