The film takes place during a wedding and ends with a funeral. In between, it explores the lives of the Jian family. The father, NJ, is a partner in a struggling electronics firm who is disillusioned with business ethics and reconnects with an old flame. His wife, Min-Min, suffers an existential crisis and retreats to a mountain monastery. His daughter, Ting-Ting, navigates first love and guilt, while his young son, Yang-Yang, discovers the magic of photography and the truth adults often ignore.
