Risaomomo (リサオモモ) has emerged in the past decade as a multifaceted cultural artefact spanning manga, music, and internet meme culture. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon by integrating three methodological lenses: (1) semiotic analysis of its visual iconography, (2) discourse analysis of online communities that produce and circulate risaomomo -related content, and (3) sociolinguistic investigation of the lexical innovations associated with the term. Our findings reveal that risaomomo functions simultaneously as a brand identity, a meme‑template, and a site of identity negotiation for young Japanese netizens. The paper concludes by suggesting directions for future research on emergent digital cultures in East Asia.
At the heart of Risaomomo lies a set of fundamental principles that guide its approach to healing. These principles are rooted in the concept of yin and yang, the balance of opposites that underlies all aspects of life. According to Risaomomo, the body is composed of a complex interplay of yin and yang energies, with yin representing the cooling, nourishing aspects of life and yang representing the warming, dynamic aspects. risaomomo
