"Sheldon!" Missy yelled from the couch. "Just sit down and watch the show!"
"We're not getting a new TV, Sheldon," George Sr. grumbled, not looking up from his plate.
George looked at his son—this strange, brilliant, exhausting boy. He thought about the football game he was missing, and the beer he wanted to drink, and the quiet he craved. But then he looked at the messy ink square.
"It’s a shame, really," Sheldon muttered. "Imagine how beautiful that actress would look in 2160p."

George sighed, the way he always sighed when his son spoke in riddles. He sat on the edge of the bed. "Sheldon, why are you doing this? The TV works fine."
Distraught by a four-hour gap in his class schedule, Sheldon complains to President Hagemeyer. To appease him, she grants him a private dorm room. Sheldon initially intends to use it for quiet study and naps, but word quickly spreads among older students. Naive to their true intentions, Sheldon begins renting out the room to couples for "study sessions," even creating a meticulous spreadsheet to manage the schedule.
(He would later write in his journal that night that 2160p was still superior, but he kept that thought to himself.)
