Requires: AutoCAD Civil 3D or Map 3D (Standard AutoCAD does not have this tool natively).
To keep the image when offline or for plotting, use the Capture Area or Capture Viewport tool under the Geolocation tab.
The most direct way to get satellite imagery into AutoCAD without extra software is the command. This uses Bing Maps (which provides similar imagery to Google Earth) and is available in standard AutoCAD 2025 and 2026.
To import Google Earth into AutoCAD, follow these steps:
This imports the actual terrain mesh (TIN) and georeferenced satellite imagery directly from the Google Earth data source.
Requires: Google Earth Pro (Free) + Standard AutoCAD. Warning: Low resolution. Do not use for engineering measurements.
In the dialog box, type your project's address or coordinates. Once located, click Drop Marker Here and click Next .
