You can no longer "embed" the old VLC engine into a webpage the way we did in the early 2010s. Instead, developers have pivoted to that bridge your browser with the standalone VLC media player installed on your computer.
The (also known as npvlc.dll or libvlcplugin.so ) was a NPAPI plugin that allowed VLC media player to embed video playback directly in web browsers.
