RPCS3 translates PowerPC instructions (PS3’s Cell CPU) to x86/x64 in real time. The threads are incredibly demanding: they act like multiple tiny, high-frequency DSPs. A single PS3 game can spawn 6+ SPU threads, each hammering a CPU core at 100% usage. This creates instant, sustained AVX-512/AVX2 heat (especially on Intel 11th–13th gen and modern AMD Zen 4).
