It’s been a few years since ExtraTorrent (ET) shut down in 2017, but for many of us who grew up with Xvid encodes and 720p BRrips, it was the gold standard. Unlike TPB or KAT, ET had a clean UI, verified uploaders, and incredibly fast scene releases.

As ExtraTorrent's popularity grew, so did the attention from law enforcement agencies and the entertainment industry. The site's administrators had to constantly move to new domains and IP addresses to evade shutdowns. This cat-and-mouse game continued for years, with ExtraTorrent always staying one step ahead of its pursuers.
