Prison Battleship Now

As Allied forces closed in and the inevitability of Japan's defeat became clear, the prison battleship was largely abandoned, left to drift and deteriorate. By 1948, the once-fearsome battleship had been captured by Allied forces, only to be subsequently destroyed in a post-war operation aimed at eliminating any remaining Japanese military capabilities.
