The story holds a mirror to the urban middle class. Ved represents millions of people who suppress their creativity to secure a paycheck. The scenes of him in the office—checking clocks, smiling falsely at bosses, enduring the commute—are visceral. To give a balanced view, the story has a polarizing element: the pacing. The second act (Delhi) is slow and repetitive. While this is intentional to show the monotony of Ved’s life, it tests the audience's patience.
