Here, Cole pivoted from the "prophet" role to that of a storyteller, weaving the tale of his friend James (and himself) through the eyes of a narrator facing mortality. Tracks like "Foldin Clothes" and "She's Mine Pt. 1" revealed a softer, domesticated Cole, more concerned with protecting his new family than conquering the charts. It was a risky pivot that paid off, proving he didn't need to chase hits to move units.
