Sinhala — Mahabharata

The Mahabharata was originally composed in Sanskrit by the ancient Indian sage Vyasa. The epic was later translated and adapted into many languages, including Sinhala. The earliest known Sinhala translation of the Mahabharata dates back to the 12th century CE, during the Polonnaruwa period of Sri Lankan history. This translation was done by a Buddhist monk named "Mpu Athula", who is believed to have traveled to India and studied Sanskrit.
