Neha Sharma’s entry into the entertainment industry wasn't through Bollywood but via the South Indian film industry. She made her acting debut in the 2007 Telugu film Chirutha , opposite Ram Charan. Her performance was well-received, earning her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut (South). This foundation in the South industry gave her a grounding in commercial cinema aesthetics before she made the leap to Hindi films.
