The plot follows the traditional sakhi : Rajni, in her misery, comes into contact with the Guru. The film visualizes the miraculous nature of this encounter. The Guru’s presence is depicted as a calming, healing force. Through the power of the Shabad (divine word) and the sanctity of the Sarovar (holy pool), Rajni is healed. In some versions of the plot adapted for the screen, this healing is tied to the sacred waters of what would later become the site of a Gurdwara.
