Candidates listen to two long recordings—often interviews, lectures, or news reports—and a series of shorter radio broadcasts. The challenge lies in the speed of speech and the complexity of the vocabulary. The questions are designed to assess the candidate's ability to identify main ideas, specific details, and the speaker’s point of view.

For the oral section, a key strategy is the "diplomatic refusal." Candidates are often afraid to disagree with the examiner, but the test rewards the ability to politely refute an idea. Phrases such as "Je comprends votre point de vue, mais je ne partage pas cet avis" (I understand your point of view, but I do not share this opinion) are essential tools. Furthermore, familiarity with current events—such as ecology, technology, and education—is advantageous, as these are common themes for the oral and written prompts.
